My Sweet Althea,
I’ve been thinking about capybaras lately—your favorite gentle giants. Did you know they remind me of you? Calm, kind, and full of quiet strength. Capybaras have so much to teach us about life, and as I think about you in this season, I feel like God is whispering lessons through them just for you.
Capybaras are social creatures—they love being part of a group. They remind me of how God created us for connection. Even though we’re apart, you’re surrounded by people who care for you, and no matter what, God is with you. He promises in Acts 2:42 that He’s present in every community of love and fellowship.
They’re also so peaceful, Althea—always calm, even when life gets loud around them. Philippians 4:7 tells us about the peace of God that goes beyond anything we can understand. That peace is yours, even now, to hold onto when things feel tough.
And here’s my favorite part: capybaras are amazing swimmers. They’re so adaptable, diving into rivers and trusting the water to carry them. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust God with everything and lean into Him, especially when life feels uncertain. Like a capybara in the water, God will carry you safely where you need to go.
So, my sweet girl, remember this: You are loved beyond words, by me and by the God who made you so wonderfully. When you feel out of place or overwhelmed, think of capybaras and the lessons they bring—community, peace, and trust.
I am so proud of you, Althea. You are brave, smart, and full of light. I pray for you every day, asking God to fill your heart with His peace and surround you with His love. You are never alone.
All my love,
Mom 🌻
Just like a capybara doesn’t try to be a bird or a fish, you don’t have to be anything but the amazing person God made you to be.
