Leaping Forward: Trusting God’s Path Like the Kangaroo
Faith Moves Forward—Finding Strength, Community, and Compassion in Christ
🦘✨My Sweet Girls,
There’s something fascinating about a kangaroo. It doesn’t move like other animals—it hops. Powerfully. Boldly. Forward. And here’s the most interesting part: a kangaroo can’t move backward. Its entire design propels it ahead, even when the terrain is rough.
And isn’t that a beautiful picture of faith?
Life can feel uncertain. I know you both wrestle with big questions about Jesus, about who you are, about where you fit in this world. Some days, it feels like you’re standing still—like everyone else is running forward while you’re just trying to figure out which way is up. But here’s what I want you to know:
God has designed you for forward movement. He’s given you everything you need to take the next step, even when you’re unsure where the path leads.
Lessons from the Kangaroo
1. Strength for the Journey 💪🏽
Kangaroos don’t tiptoe. They leap. Their powerful hind legs help them cover huge distances in a single jump.
🦘 Did You Know? A kangaroo can jump over 25 feet in one leap—that’s longer than a school bus!
✨ Spiritual Truth:
Sometimes, faith feels like taking a big jump without seeing where you’ll land.
Philippians 4:13 reminds us: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
You don’t have to see the whole journey—just trust God for your next leap.
2. The Power of Community 🤝
Kangaroos don’t do life alone—they move in mobs, looking out for one another. If one senses danger, it stomps the ground to warn the others.
🦘 Did You Know? Kangaroos form deep bonds in their groups, protecting each other from predators.
✨ Spiritual Truth:
Life isn’t meant to be navigated alone.
Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us: "Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..."
Like kangaroos protect their group, you need people who will look out for you, pray for you, and remind you who you are in Christ. Stay close to those who speak life over you.
3. Safe in His Arms 🛡️
A baby kangaroo (a joey) stays in its mother’s pouch for protection, warmth, and growth before it’s strong enough to hop on its own.
🦘 Did You Know? A joey is the size of a jellybean when it’s born—but inside its mother’s pouch, it grows strong and safe until it’s ready to explore the world.
✨ Spiritual Truth:
God is your safe place. No matter how big or small your faith feels, He holds you close.
Psalm 91:4 reminds us: "He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge."
You don’t have to have everything figured out—just rest in Him. He’s got you.
4. Compassion in Action 💛
Kangaroos are nurturing creatures, especially mothers, who carry, feed, and protect their young until they are strong enough to venture out. Their care reminds us of the call to show kindness and love to others.
🦘 Did You Know? A mother kangaroo can pause her pregnancy if her first joey still needs care. She puts her young before herself.
✨ Spiritual Truth:
Jesus calls us to love and care for others just as He loves us.
In Matthew 7:12, He teaches us:
"In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you."
You are called to walk in kindness, to love generously, and to be a light to those around you. Compassion is an action, not just a feeling.
Reflection Questions:
🦘 Where in your life do you feel like you’re standing still?
🦘 What’s one small leap of faith you can take today?
🦘 Who are the people in your “mob” that keep you encouraged and strong?
🦘 How can you show compassion to someone this week?
Let’s Pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for creating me with purpose, just like the kangaroo. When I feel stuck, remind me that You’ve designed me to move forward, not backward. Help me to trust You with my next step, even when I can’t see the whole path. Surround me with people who encourage my faith and remind me of Your love. And Lord, help me to be compassionate—to see others through Your eyes, to treat them with kindness, and to love them as You love me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Blessing Over You:
May you leap forward in faith, trusting that God is guiding your every step. May you find strength in His presence, safety in His arms, and courage to move even when the path isn’t clear. And may your heart be filled with compassion—seeing, loving, and serving others as Jesus would.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Decree & Declare:
🔥 I will not shrink back—I will leap forward in faith!
🔥 I am strengthened by Christ for every challenge ahead!
🔥 I am held securely in His love and protected in His presence!
🔥 I will love others as Christ has loved me, showing compassion and kindness daily!
Faith is about movement—sometimes, God calls us to leap forward, even when we don’t see where we’ll land.
When life feels uncertain, remember that God is already ahead of you. He’s writing your story—just take the next leap of faith.
Kangaroos don’t go backward, and neither should we. You don’t need to have it all figured out—you just need to trust the One who does.
So, my sweet girls, what’s one way you can leap forward in faith today? Drop a 🦘 in the comments and let’s talk about it! I love you endlessly. 🌻✨
