"He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound."
—Isaiah 61:1b (NKJV)
Beloved Althea and Cordelia,
Have you ever watched a butterfly struggle to break free from its chrysalis? For days—sometimes weeks—it looks like nothing is happening. It’s still, hidden away, confined. But inside, a transformation is unfolding.
And then, at just the right moment, the struggle begins. The pushing, the pressing, the breaking free. And soon? Wings. Flight. Freedom.
There are moments in life when we feel trapped—by fear, by pain, by things we don’t understand. But hear this, my loves: Jesus came to set you free. He has already shattered every chain that tries to hold you back. The prison doors have been flung open. You are not bound—you are becoming.
🦋 A Lesson from the Butterfly
When a caterpillar creates its chrysalis, it isn’t dying—it’s changing. From the outside, it looks stuck, but inside, God is doing a new thing. Sometimes, the places that feel like confinement are actually preparation.
Jesus, our Redeemer, works the same way. He doesn’t leave us in our struggles—He transforms us through them. What feels like a delay is often God preparing you for your wings.
🌿 Pointing to Christ
Jesus came to heal, restore, and lead us into freedom. If you’ve ever felt weighed down by fear, sin, or sadness, hear this: you were never meant to stay in captivity.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:36)
The world will try to convince you that you’re stuck. That things will never change. That the battle will never end. But look to the butterfly. There is life on the other side of this cocoon.
🙏 Let’s Pray
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe. Thank You for the freedom You have given us through Jesus. When we feel trapped, remind us that You are working, shaping, and preparing us for something greater. May we trust You in the waiting and step boldly into the freedom You have already won for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
🌻 A Blessing Over You
May you know that even in the waiting, God is moving. May you trust that the struggle is not the end, but the beginning of your wings. And when the time comes, may you soar—free, fearless, and full of His grace.
You are not bound. You are being made new.
